In its original box, we find this vermeil* sterling silver award medal with a beautifully represented handshake motif.

Two hands are clasped in friendship and fidelity within a cartouche. Below are the words "Wells" and "Motto" in ribbons. Beneath these lie foliage.

To the reverse, are the words, "Awarded To", although this has remained unengraved or personalized.

Below are UK hallmarks for the year 1908.

This comes in its original box, with gold lettering stamped, "'J.A. Restall Jeweller Silversmith & Medalist 82 Cambridge St. Birmingham".

*Vermeil is a gold wash over silver.
