In three dimensions, this chatelaine has it all and then some.
Replete with sporting or equestrian themes, the top element takes the form of an impressive sighthound dog's head. In its open mouth rests a riding crop. Its eyes are decorated with yellow gold and it wears a silver collar.
The whip is silver with rose gold accents and is poised at a rakish angle.
Beneath this are two articulated buckle and strap motif elements.
From this is suspended a substantial working watch. Its frame is a saddle bag theme with rose gold rosettes and raised linear elements.
In addition, the original watch key and chain are still present. There is the original long, hinged silver clip to slide onto your waist or belt for use with your "lady of the manor" dress.
Also hinged, the watch front opens to reveal the dial. To wind or set the watch, there is also a hinge to lift the cover of the watch works. It also has a clear crystal so that you can see the watch run.
Four rose gold over silver chains dangle from the "saddle bag" forming a drapery of movement.
You set the watch with the key and center pin. You wind it by the element to its top right.
