At the pinnacle of rarity, chic wearability, exceptional condition, and an all-around "must have", is this Georgian gold and garnet necklace & bracelet.
Better still, this converts from a shorter necklace to a longer one by adding the bracelet. Why our modern jewelers have neglected to incorporate mutability in jewelry is an unanswerable question.
Astounding woven 15k yellow gold flexes and stretches slightly. In the round, the intricate "knitted" gold forms a circular open work of richness. Reminiscent of ancient gold, this nevertheless dates to around 1820.
Each length of the gold "chain" is only less than a millimeter wide. The top surface is patterned with tiny raised dots. These lengths of spun gold are wrapped and form loop-the-loops of intricacy.
Accented with rich, wine-red hued garnets, they are spaced out on the entire length of both the necklace and chain. Each gemstone is set within a border of twisted wire.
Two original and intricate clasps can be worn in various positions, whether as a necklace or necklace and bracelet.
As a necklace, show off the richness by placing them in the front opposing each other.
Patterned and textured gold has been adorned with granulation. At the garnets, there rests cannetille spirals of gold.
It is exceedingly rare to find both pieces still intact, in excellent condition, and all original.
