Art Jewelry is an umbrella terms for those one-of-a-kind pieces created by master craftspeople. This exceptional brooch straddles that definition as it was inspired by the abstract painting by the famed Russian artist Wassily Kandinsky (1866-1944).

His painting, "Ambiguity" or in German "Kompliziert einfach" or "Complicatingly Simple" from 1939, served as the muse for this brooch that was flawlessly created in diamonds, emeralds, and 18k white and yellow gold.
Max Pollinger (1932-2000) was the German jeweler and creator of this extraordinary piece of wearable art.
Prismatic and reflecting every color of the rainbow, the diamonds are superb at F-G color, VS clarity and weigh a total of 2.5 carats. Lush verdant emeralds, with a total of 1.3 carats, are inset in yellow gold beneath the puffy, sculptured white gold and diamond surface.
This cut out along with the lower free form shape, adds dimension and intrigue to the whole. Mr. Pollinger once worked under the esteemed Hemmerle Jewelry firm in Germany.
Our last photograph is the image of the Kandinsky painting; the lower right area is easily discernable as the stimulus for this remarkable brooch. Our research reveals that each of these were distinct and no two were exactly alike. Any information you can impart is always appreciated.

The original painting by Kandinsky hangs in the Musee National dArt Moderne, Centre Pompidou in Paris.
