SPECIAL MARKDOWN! Exceptional Value!
Calling all dog lovers, chow chow fans, J.E. Caldwell admirers, and Essex crystal aficionados.
Custom made in 1934, from a husband to his wife for the bracelet, comes this special Essex crystal, matched set.
Three show dogs, Chee-Moo, Dai Silogo, and Kee-Chee were given a great and loving tribute in rock crystal quartz and 14k gold. In 1934, this matching set was created by the noted jeweler, J.E. Caldwell.
Three different chow chow dogs, two red, and one black are depicted in careful detail. One dog, Chee-Moo is repeated in the ring but was still carved and painted differently so not a duplicate. These are hand-carved and painted in deep, rock crystal.
Each dog is backed by mother of pearl and engraved on the reverse with the dog's names.
The bracelet, pure Art Deco era chic, consists of six sided, elongated rectangles and six three-in-one smaller links with a hidden clasp.
The ring is inscribed Dorsey K. Offutt, apparently an attorney, and Chee-Moo.
Box shown for illustration purposes, but all purchases come with a handmade Italian gift box and satin bow.
*Further research revealed that these three prize show dogs may have been bred by Mrs. B.F. Moore of the kennel name Choonam.
