Inspired by nature, yet one better, or bigger, the design of this brooch utilizes exaggeration in the best sense.
In this captivating antique brooch, the exaggeration of the bird's beak has been crafted with such balance and grace, that it adds immeasurably to its charm.
A diamond head with peaked "feathers", a ruby eye, a long beach of rose gold, and a pearl at the tip just captivates.
Perhaps it plays homage to an oystercatcher bird, with its orange beak and orange and yellow eyes. That pearl would be appropriate as they diet almost exclusively on oysters, mussels, and clams.
Whatever the species, it is an unforgettable jewel.
