Challenging that coloration is this fine blue sapphire set within an 18k yellow gold halo ring. Strong bright electric highlights play against the reflection of light generated by each of the facets on the surface.
The .50 carat stone is cushion cut, or rectangular in shape cut with rounded corners. With its open culet (bottom) the eye is drawn deeply into the gem in a mesmerizing manner.
Beautifully set around the sapphire is a halo of 10 old mixed-cut diamonds of .50 carats (I-J color; SI1-3 clarity for clear inclusions) lighting up the vibrant blue stone with fire and glitter.
The gallery of 18k yellow gold supports a series of crown settings for the diamonds. The shoulders form a "V" with cut-out leaf patterns that segue into a graduated shank.
