Sloan & Co., an fine American jewelry manufacturing house, presented a series of astrologically items in the early years of the twentieth century.
Perfect for a birthday or Christmas gift, this 14k yellow gold double box photo locket is beautifully appointed with a high relief frieze of the Zodiac sign for Gemini, traditionally encompassing the dates of May 20 through June 20.
The image of the entwined twins rests at the center. Above them the word, "MAY" and to the right, GEMINI are placed in relief. All these are marked with May, but small and only discernable when viewing very close. Below is the II glyph for the sign. Surrounding these are flowers and leaves.
Two compartments for photographs or mementos are revealed inside.
