Atop is a locket, one of the scarcer forms of rings. The original garnet-hued glass or paste rests at the center. A sun has been engraved, radiating outward, framing the center.

Each shoulder shows off an organic leaf shape, embellished with additional engraving.

The ring is Victorian, dating from around 1850 and in 15k rose gold. And to answer your question, we have never seen this form of ring before!
