Austro-Hungarian in origin, this antique circa 1880 bracelet is a magnificent sculptural creation.
There is no stopping the central oval rose cut diamonds as the eye popping focal point. Visually it reads as the equivalent visually of a 2.5 carat stone. But as rose cuts are flat on the reverse, its actual weight is estimated at 1.80 carats.
Four more diamonds grace the corners, all are bezel set above a base of night sky-blue enamel. Deep and dreamy, the plinth is adorned with more cobalt blue and also white enamel, along with designs of triangles, curves, volutes and scrolls.
Panels of deep repoussé gold mirror this imagery also accented by inset enamel. Lovingly created 14k yellow gold, weighty and rich in feel, it is a masterpiece of wearable art.
