Story

When have you ever seen a bracelet lined with French cut diamonds? How about one with both French cut diamonds and sapphires?

More on French cuts toward the end. In the meantime, WOW WOW and WOW on this one.

Entirely handmade, this linear bracelet must be seen to be believed for it imparts maximum brilliance and color. It is so sparkling, that even in low light, it radiates.

Every diamond is a French cut, one of the most labor-intensive, demanding, and difficult diamonds to create. Because of this, almost always their color and clarity are fine.

Dating to the Art Deco period, the alternating diamonds with fine, natural blue sapphires and the five squares between framing French cuts diamonds result in a jewel that speaks volumes.

THE FINE PRINT

Due to the nature of antique & vintage jewelry, many diamond and gemstone weights are calculated by measurements, not removed. Actual weights are noted in the item's description. Grading of diamonds and gemstones may vary slightly when removed.

HONESTY

Being as honest as possible about the items we represent for sale is our ultimate goal! Our pricing is industry recognized as fair and equitable with value as the byword.

Date: Circa 1925.

Measurements: Length of 7 5/16 inches and width of over 1/4 inch (6.5 mm). Weight of 25.1 grams.

Hallmarks: Drosten, French import owl mark, 2 mask marks.

Condition: Excellent, a few minute areas of yellow gold solder on the reverse are seen with magnification.

Origin: Imported in France for sale.

Note: French cuts premiered during the earliest part of the 20th century, invented by Joseph Asscher. These diamonds possess 58 facets and due to their generously sized planes and overall shape, more weight can be retained compared to other shapes of diamonds.

Remember carat is a measure of weight!

Its heyday flourished in the Art Deco period, but in recent years, it has once again struck a frenzied chord and is still highly sought after, new or antique.

Most of us have heard of the Cullinan diamonds (both I and II) and these are the most famed of Asscher cuts.

If you haven't experienced their brilliance firsthand, you are in for a treat like no other diamond.
