With a medium to smaller scale, this wearable locket is embellished with hand-painted enamel.
On the front, a precious landscape depicts a stone bridge over rippling water, stately trees, and purple-pink clouds. Cleverly, the gold was allowed to peek through in a few areas making an almost iridescent sheen.
Banded by white enamel, and with the top "V" area, this section appears as trompe l'oeil of a pedant within a pendant.
A spray of ivy leaves, symbolic of love, tenacity, and loyalty, are enameled in forest green. Beneath, a "necklace" of both engraved and enameled work suggests a necklace.
Softly polished, the remainder of the front and back are left unadorned.
