Story
There are many firsts in antique jewelry (when the stars align), and here is another. A Victorian bangle with a dog!
A sweet, rounded-faced pup lies within a basket or arched house. Next to the pooch, a square, footed planter serves as a receptacle for lush, leafy plants and blooms. Further plants or reeds lie in the background.
Perhaps a gate or garden wall caps the right side. Rose gold over silver defines the raised curling brackets.
More hand engraving fills those areas with deeply worked floral-like designs. At the edge, a vertical strip of rose gold over silver takes on a lattice-like appearance.
On each top and bottom edge of the front half, cannonball orbs are spaced. The back is plain and highly polished. This is hinged and there is a safety chain.
All hand engraved and hand finished, it is a memorable vignette with a superlative theme.
