Story

SPECIAL MARKDOWN! Superb Value!

The white rose's symbolism stretches back to time immemorial.

Purity, loyalty, innocence, peace, from the Greek gods and goddesses, to the Bible, alchemists, to modern love and gift giving, roses possess ancient meanings still redolent today.

In this circa 1880's Victorian sterling silver locket, the front is artfully hand painted in enamels from white, to blush pink, lush greens, grays, and browns.

Realistic and masterfully painted, one rose shows in full, another portrayed from the side and underside, with three buds, leaves, stems and thorns.

The interior still retains the original pressed and dried flower stems from long ago. Both locket compartments still have their original silver rims and later plastic covers.

A surprise remains under the right compartment below the white paper. It will be left for you to discover.
